As you might see, the trunk of this gentle giant i As you might see, the trunk of this gentle giant is slightly shorter than it should be. This elephant was once caught in a snare and lost part of it. Fortunately this elephant managed to survive, even though he had to adjust his technique to get rid of all the sand in his food. On this two week Ecoquest course with @ecotraining we learn about the cause and probable solutions for these snares (of which there are loads in the bush). Buffaloes are amazing animals. They have a bad rep Buffaloes are amazing animals. They have a bad reputation, but if you know how to act around them, there won’t be a problem. Today we learned to approach these animals from a far distance on open plains. This way they could see us coming and we kept our distance. If you would show up close to them out of the thick bush, you might be in trouble. On the @ecotraining 14-day ecoquest, we learn about animal behaviour amongst other subjects.
